| HAKAJIMII JOINS OTHER ORGANIZATIONS IN URGING THE GOVERNMENT TO RATIFY THE OPTIONAL PROTOCOL TO THE ICESCR
The Kenya National Human Rights Commission, Ministry of Justice, National Cohesion and Constitutional Affairs and the United Nations office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights organized a technical workshop to discuss the value of Optional Protocols for protecting human rights in Kenya . the meeting was held between 5th and 8th July 2010. Hakijamii presented a paper and led the discussion on the Optional Protocol to the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights. Following the meeting an advisory has been been sent to the Government recommending that it takes immediate steps to ratify this Protocol, maong others. We hope that this will be done soon.
